March 20, 21 (Steve)

Just a couple nice easy swims. I know I'm logging one before it happened, but I know I'm going to get in real easy tonight and just cruise around. Last night I just swam 3000 meters again. Worked some 75's and the rest was pretty much drilling and easy swimming. Tonight I'll go about 2200-2500 and I'll throw in a few fast 25's. My rhythm in SCM feels so much better than in yards. Maybe I should move over seas where I can swim meters all the time. I'm kind of anxious to see how the 200 breast is going to go since I haven't been putting a whole lot into my swimming. Part of me thinks it could wind up being blazing fast for me, but I'm not really sure. Guess we'll have to wait and see. Tomorrow is a rest day and then Friday, Saturday and Sunday will all be spent at Harvard.

Hey Steve!

Good luck on the breast this weekend. But how can you rhythm be so different, if the difference in length is only ~75 inches? That's perhaps less than one stroke?

Curiously,

Matt

Dunno. Maybe it's all mental but meters feels so much better for me. My timing is much better in SCM too so maybe I need those 75 inches to adjust my stroke along the way. This will be my first championship meet without doing any racing before hand so I'm anxious to see how it works out. Under 2:10 and I'll be happy. Over 2:10 and I'll probably wind up beating myself up some but I'll get over it.
